SARAH ENRIGHT

SHOWGROUND WOODCHOP AREA

Sarah Enright is a multidisciplinary collaborative artist working through performance, installation and collage.

Her performance credits include the Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, the National Gallery of Victoria, and a commission by Schaubühne Berlin to premiere work for their Festival of International New Drama. Most recently via collage she was a finalist in the Waverley Art Prize, included as part of Summer Salon at Gallery Jennings Kerr and will present a solo at Olsen Gallery Annexe this July.

Experimenting with interactive realities, her work strikes a union of the real and abstract. Her visual practice probes the uncanny, where absurd suggestions of the anatomic are revealed as tactile sensualities. Research based, site specific storytelling is executed with playful Abjection and intimacy. The work inquires into its own instability, its experiential nature and use of trash implies that the fate of everything we hold dear, including ourselves, is to become waste.

At OpenField, she will present a roaming performance piece based on lesser known elements of the life of Alexander Berry and Elizabeth Wollstonecraft.
