This here is mine
That there is mine

And over there is also mine

Our wanting has no limits -

People seek profits to increase their ownership over things, places, nature and all that our planet contains.

These are the essentials for life

They were not meant to be owned, but to be shared by all things 

 

I am as guilty as the next person
We bought some land, built a mud brick house, and call it our own.

These shapes were carved from the mud-brick off-cuts remaining from the build. 

 

About the Artist

Akira Kamada studied photography and painting in Japan before migrating to Australia. With a background in Zen garden design and landscaping he studied ceramics and sculpture in Sydney. He was a Clitheroe Foundation Mentorship Recipient (2008) and has exhibited at Sculpture by the Sea, in both Bondi and Cottesloe, on multiple occasions, and was the winner of the Sculpture in The Valley prize (2023).
